Dear residents,
We are delighted to announce that by working together the Longham Village Residents Association and Cllr Hannah Hobbs-Chell can share the following update from Bournemouth Water regarding the Longham Bridge overland pipe.
Bournemouth Water would like to thank the Longham Village Resident’s Association for inviting us to their meeting on 23 September 2025 to update the residents of our proposed works. We found the meeting helpful and informative, and we hope the residents also did.
I can inform you that Bournemouth Water has now concluded the options appraisal works and a provisional programme has been presented that would result in the removal of the temporary overland pipe by Spring 2026 – this programme is now being refined.
The highways notices associated with these works are being requested. Any notice will need to be agreed /approved by the Highways Agency which in this case is Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Unitary Authority who we are liaising with on a regular basis.”
This is great news, and we are grateful for Bournemouth Water’s updates and progress on this longstanding issue.
Regards
